SCRUB FIGHT!! Club Meeting - 10 September 2017

With just a week to go until GuardCon, we thought it best to maybe get a game in with the lists that we're taking to the tournament. You know, at least see how they run...?

Monkey and I took on Damo and Dan. Monkey and I are taking a DKoK - Marine combination and the other scrubs are taking Necrons and Nids.

This should be fun.....

Dan's Carnifex Conga Line with Old One-eye in the back...

Neigh.....

The mission for this game was The Scouring so 6 objectives scattered around the table (thanks to the new Battlekiwi objectives....) so this was gonna be a massive fight.

The DKoK really did a mass of work in this one....and the Rough Riders are freaking AWESOME!

This photo, the last known record of Sergeant Loftus and his Battle Brothers.

At the end of the game, the Emprah's warriors held the field though. 10 - 3 to the Blues Brothers.

The other game saw a Chaos - Chaos alignment taking on more Chaos, this time paired with Drukhari.

Yeah, some dude brought a Primarch to a scrub fight....there's always one....

I believe this one went the way of the Elves and Chaos. Objectives and such....

As well as the glorious 40K action, we also had some Flames of War, Late War.

Jon's German's took on Pablo's Brits....

And finally, a game of Rogue Stars was played. This is a game from Osprey which is skirmish wargames in a Sci-Fi underworld. Looks pretty cool...

Any game that starts with a shoot-out is OK in my books!

Four hours of gaming goes by so quick....and sometimes it's all a little too much...

Until next fortnight...

Space Elves suck.... Club Meeting - 13 August 2017

What? They do...everyone knows it!

You know what doesn't suck though? BLUDGEFEST V!!! Yep, that's right, there was a HEAP of resin, plastic, cardboard and other assorted gaming paraphernalia on display and ready to be scooped up!

Look at it all....LOOOOOOOK AT IT!!!

So many goodies! Once again, the magpies were treated well....

And we had games as well!!

GuardCon is quickly rolling around so there was a lot of 40k gaming going on. There was T'au, DKoK, Chaos Marine and their non-heretical brethren and....yeah, damned Space Elves as well.

The fields of battle were wide and varied....

As well as 40k, there was also a game of Warzone Resurrection...

As well as Dystopian Wars....

And then....the thunder and lightening arrived...and we high-tailed it out of these lest we melt!

So, what was your excuse for not turning up...?

BLUDGEFEST V!!!

Do you have a mountain of toy soldiers who you haven't painted?
Projects imagine but never realised?
Rulebooks unread and dice unrolled?

THEN THIS WEEKEND IS FOR YOU!

That's right people and other assorted identities, this weekend is BLUDGEFEST V. A chance for you to air out the man caves and pack up all that shit you'll never get around to painting no matter how much you tell yourself that you'll get round to it.

Why not send them to a new home and get some cash thrown into the bargain!?

Head along to TCOW this Sunday (13 August) and marvel at the magic that is BLUDGEFEST!!!

And now a message from our founder:

"I heartily endorse this event or product."

It's a Disco! - Club Meeting 30 July

Oonst, oonst, oonst...the Disco-Crons are moving!

That's right ladies and gents, we're still firmly in the grip of Warhammer 40k and we aren't looking back! Everyone seems pretty well taken with how the rules are working and how much fun the game actually is. It's a really good example of a game, reinvented and rejuvenated to bring back players.

So, what did we have?

Damo and Darren threw down 1500 point of 'Cron on Space Elf action. Apparently, Darren did have enough troops and everything for 1500 points so he HAD to throw in a Wraithknight....you know, to make it fair and all that jazz....

Space Elf stuff starting their approach to the shiny, disco horde...

Shiny Disco-Crons!

Glen and I went for some Marine on Marine action with my, as-yet unnamed Ultramarine Successors taking on the Sons of Russ.

One thing I do know for sure, I hate Force-Shields...

Stu and Andrew headed to Japan this week for a Test of Honour.

While Greg and Daryl headed to the Old World for some Blood Bowl. I believe this was semi-final action for the Auckland Blood Bowl league.

And there were some tiny ships flying around as well...

All in all, a pretty damned good club day!

The next club will see the second Bludgefest for the year, so it's time to dig out all that plastic and resin you're actually never gonna paint and get some cash for it!
